Still Life Drawings

Drawing is very important when it comes to makeup. There will be times where you will have to draw various lines, shapes and patterns on the face. It is important to understand the basics of drawing and how things are formed.

I started off drawing lines which was important to understand the difference between vertical, horizontal, diagonal, parallel etc. I then started to draw the basic shapes such as triangles, circles and squares and then moved onto forms such as cubes, spheres, pyramids, cones and cylinders.

We also looked into the pencil hardness scale and the tones between the different types of pencils. You can see that I have tried out this technique in all the pencils so you can see the range between them all.

For our homework, we then had to take this practice further and draw a still life object of anything we wanted. I chose an apple and I think I have captured the shape and the light and dark areas well. I will keep practicing this technique to help me improve in my makeup studies.
